Project MEND Veterans Program

Project MEND is honored to serve those who served our country. We assist Texas veterans (any person discharged from the armed forces of the United States) and their family members, including surviving spouses (widows/widowers) and dependents (spouses and dependent children), with refurbished medical equipment and other assistive technology items.

  • Service connected disability is NOT required

  • Disability rating issued by the VA is NOT required

  • Must provide a prescription (Rx) for each item requested or a Letter of Medical Necessity for Assistive Technology

  • Proof of Texas address, veteran status (by way of DD-214, Texas ID, Military ID, etc.), and Social Security number required

  • No income requirements

This program is supported by a grant from the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance.

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT REUSE EXAMPLES

Refurbished assistive technology items we provide include wheelchairs, walkers,
rollators, hospital beds, tub transfer benches, and power scooters.

Other items may be available

ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY FINANCIAL AID EXAMPLES

Assistive technology items we can fund include hearing aids, adaptive communication
aids, cranial helmets, prostheses, orthotics, and diabetic shoes.

Set An Appointment Today!

The first step for all Project MEND programs is to get a prescription or Letter of Medical Necessity for the needed medical equipment or AT device and email it to rx@projectmend.org. Once a prescription has been secured, an appointment can be scheduled by completing this service agreement and emailing to rx@projectmend.org or faxing to (210) 223.6441.
