GORDON HARTMAN Family Foundation builds Project MEND a new facility!
Gordon Hartman of the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation began construction on a new administration facility for Project MEND in April 2010. Recently, Project MEND staff and Mr. Hartman walked through the facility to inspect the office space to ensure it would meet the needs of Project MEND. Click on the following link to view additional photos of the new building: (New Building photos) We expect our administration staff to be in the new building some time in September 2010, so, please keep checking our website for our new address and actual move in date! Please note: Warehouse staff will remain at our current location to continue to accept donations of medical equipment. All clients requesting medical equipment or fitted mobility services will be seen at the new office location.
WELLMED Foundation Gives $25,000 Matching Gift to Project MEND!
Ms. Kymberly and Dr. George Rapier generously donated a $25,000 matching gift to Project MEND from the WellMed Foundation on May 11, 2010. This matching gift was provided to Project MEND as a result of a challenge issued to the San Antonio community by WellMed in August 2009 to help Project MEND through monetary donations. WellMed also placed donation boxes at their clinics in order to encourage the public to make donations to Project MEND. In early 2009, Project MEND felt the negative impact of our troubled economy and asked WellMed to assist them in making a plea to the community for help in raising donations. The Rapiers then very graciously announced they would match up to $25,000 in donations to Project MEND! Project MEND would like to sincerely thank the Rapiers, the WellMed Foundation and the San Antonio community for their continued support of our agency and services!
University Health System partners with Project MEND!
Project MEND secured a $25,000 contract with the University Health System (UHS) in March 2010 that allows Project MEND to track all clients they serve that have first been referred from the clinics and hospitals within the University Health System. This partnership helps to strengthen and streamline services that can be provided more efficiently to shared patients/clients between UHS and Project MEND.
